Although I agree with the rise of content creation as a recognised job, the storyline doesn’t add up for me.

To create content ‘as a living’ you need paying consumers. And people will only have time/money to consume content if they have a healthy income themselves from a job.

In the past (as others have commented) a content creator would be called an artist. An extremely valuable part of a healthy and vibrant community.

But the community only works if you have balance of artists with bakers, plumbers, accountants, engineers etc etc.

If everyone was an artist would our community function? I don’t think so.

I can’t help but picture the idea of everyone being a content creator a bit like a pyramid scheme, only those at the top profit. Or of Ourobos, the snake that eats its own tail.

A paradox indeed.
