My immediate reaction to this was (as a tent camper), I agree, I hate people complaining about the experience of camping; expecting their home comforts but just outdoors.

But I also recalled that much of the #vanlife stuff I see online is the Instagram version where they are trying to make it look like lifestyle perfection.

I can’t help but think the journalists are responding to the Instagram version of vanlife, not the writer’s version.
